Day 828, 12 December, 2008

Posada of the street

Posada is a Christmas tradition in Mexico. It signifies the moment when Joseph and Mary were asking for a place to stay just before Jesus was born. Friends and family get together and celebrate Christmas.

First, we ate a little bit.

Then, we sang a Christmas song.

After the song, we hit and hit the pinata until a lot of candy came out of it.

Then, we ate the candy that came out of the pinata.

Look how much candy I got. I think I like Mexico. :)

Those of us still stuck in the tundra would like to see some lovely pictures of los abuelitos (did I get that case right???) to show us that someone at least escaped this winter "wonderland" and that they're happy & warm with Cecilia (and Mike & Maria, of course!!) MERRY CHRISTMAS, Feliz Navidad, deck the halls!
