Day 300, 4 July 2007

Did you ask what we do on the Fourth of July in Spain?

What don´t we do?

Before we start, let´s get in the mood.

First, we go up on the roof and strut like the cocks of the walk.

Then, we outfit the stroller for the best darn parade this ´burg has ever seen.

Then, we get naked and jump in the pool.

What? I can´t? No one´s gonna tell this American girl what to do.

USA! USA! USA!

Then we get all spiffed up for a barbacoa at Tita Conchi´s house.

Then we went to sleep dreaming of everything that makes America great.

Day 297, 1 July 2007

El parque is where there is grass and I walk around holding onto mi carrito.

Day 293, 27 June 2007

And then we went and visited Daddy´s Spanish host mama in the Big City. Then an attack of the sillies hit me and I got in the diaper bag. Aren´t I the dickens?

Day 291, 25 June 2007

If breakfast in bed is a luxury, then what is it when Abuela starts putting food in my mouth as soon as I wake up? Trust me, it tastes as good as it looks.

(Happy birthday, Iowa Grandma! Wish you were here. XOXO. Bring Cheerios.)

Day 289, 23 June 2007 ... later on

Supposedly I´m the one in the family that everybody loves. But why am I the only one with a holding pen?

Sometimes I like to sit quietly and play with my things. Then that three minutes ends and somebody better be ready to play with me or the fit will hit the shan.

Day 289, 23 June 2007

Daddy and I play the drums on the water jug. Daddy says you don´t have to be a dirty hippy to play home-made instruments, but I think the beard and our disdain for shoes indicate otherwise.

Can you believe there´s a whole ´nother room here that nobody´s ever taken me to?

Ha ha, suckers! I found the cookies and the toaster.

Neither of us bathe as often as we should.

Day 284, Monday, 18 June, 2007

On Monday afternoon, tita A. y tito JJ had to go to Sevilla to do some wedding business. Mami, Daddy and I decided to tag along.
It was so much fun. After we were done with all the shopping, we had some drinks and enjoyed the afternoon in Sevilla.

On the way home, we sang in the car:
¨Cinco lobitos tiene la loba,
cinco lobitos detras de la escoba,
cinco tenia, cinco crio,
y a todos los cinco,
tetita les dio¨.

Day 281, Friday, June 15, 2007

Finally, my hair is long enough to start experimenting with different styles.

It was Friday, and I thought that this would be the perfect hairdo to welcome the weekend.

P.S. Other hairdos will appear, and I would like your opinion in which one suits me the best.

Day 279, Wednesday, 13 June 2007

Daddy got here today. I am very happy to see him again, cause I´ve been missing him lots and lots. I wanted to show him all the things I´ve been doing since I got here. But he was very, very tired. I thought that reading a book to him would help him relax and fall asleep. I think it worked.

Day 278, Tuesday, 12 June 2007

Mommy decided that I needed my own seat at the table, so Tuesday morning, tita A. y mami went out looking for a nice chair for me. I think they did a good job, don´t you think?

Day 270, Monday, 4 June, 2007

It´s getting hot in here, so take off all your clothes!!!

Day 265, Wednesday, 30 May 2007

OnWednesday, Mommy´s friends came to visit and meet me for the very first time. They were very excited, and talked really fast. I was looking forward to meeting them after all the great things my mommy had told me about them. Also, they brought me a gift: a stuffed centipede, except with ten legs.
It made me giggle a lot and wiggle around.
Here I am upside down.

Day 264, Part II

That evening, my abuelo took me out for dinner to Bar Paquirri. Always a welcome dinner for me and my aunt E.

I didn´t partake, but these caracoles (snails) looked really, really, really good. Aunt E. ate the whole thing, leaving nothing for me.

Day 264, Tuesday, 29 May, 2007

Being famous is tough work. Now I know how baby Suri feels every day of her life. My fans come out to meet me everywhere I go.
President of my fan club: Daniela.

P.S. Check out my cool sling.
